On short drives, I'll shift at a maximum of 3500 to 4500 rpm. If the car isn't warmed up, I won't shift passed 3500.

I think my problem is the psychological trauma or irrational fear that I'm abusing the car. Damn, I miss my 1989 Mazda RX7 GTU...8000 rpm in a rotary is such as sweet song.
