Hey, I'm actually thinking of buying a bike myself. Maybe ride to work 2 times a week, have tons of fun on the weekends (tons of great routes in the Bay Area), etc. Man, I was looking into one of those Hayabusas....goes from 0-60 in what, 2.5 seconds or something, has top speed of 185+....crazy stuff. But I want to live, so I think I'll get an older, more "civilized" bike.

Was it tough to learn? Was it tough to get the feel for the bike? I know that getting a license is fairly easy, the gas mileage is great, the thrill is almost better than sex (at least that's what a buddy of mine told me, but again, his girl was no looker), and insurance payments are very easy on the wallet. I'm really interested, and would appreciate some input. Any bike riders out there? Any advice on what kind of bike I should begin with (looking at one of those Ducati Monsters)? Anybody care to share how much they pay for insurance? Anybody care to share their experience? Thanks in advance.
