Many years ago working at the motor mill the old timers (them then) had a thermocouple (temperature sensor) up on the roof and one in the work area. They refered to the separate temperatures (labeled), jokingly as outgots and ingots.
Another reference was Ingineer for engineer.
Another one was young buck (me then), ain't worth a fuck.
