I've seen pictures of the supertrapp exhaust, and was just wondering...how do they work in that the tips are covered? Do those coverings open up for the exhaust? Are there outward vents directly before the end of the pipes?

That's the beauty of SuperTrapps. There are removable discs between the tip and the end plate. Each disc has slots in it. The more discs, the less back pressure and louder the exhaust note. You can even leave the end plate off for minimal back pressure.
