Has anyone experienced any a/c cooling problems with their '99 M Coupes? I live in Dallas TX & have noticed that the a/c does not cool the car. The problem is more apparent when driving around town at lower speeds. On the highway, it will keep you cool but only if you have it set on the max settings. The car does have tinted windows.

I have had my car 00' Coupe to two local dealers (Houston, Texas) and it was pronounced "within spec". Like yours, it cools fine at freeway speeds but falls on its face in stop and go traffic. My 96 Z3 was no better.

I have exchanged info with the Roundel tech contacts. There is no known recall, tech bulletin or any other info available.

To be fair, there seam to be many Z3 owners even in Texas who are happy with their a/c. I also know if two M-Roadster owners who have sold their car for this reason. I have pretty much resigned myself to suffering through Texas summers. My car is black with tinted windows and homemade sunshade for the sunroof.

If I didn't love the car so much it would already be sitting on a Porsche used car lot.
