had the voltmeter in my '99, never had any use for it. how often do you care about voltage on a modern car? in my '01, i've used the ot gage many times in the short time i've owned it - mostly to decide whether to turn off the AC and lower the windows or not. more efficient than trial-and-error. in cold climates or in the mountains it could also be helpful, as it can alert you to possibility of ice on the road.
