When the door is closed, there is a latch that is depressed that causes the window to go up.

Here is what you do (hopefully my description is understandable)

Open the door wide open and the window naturally scoots down.
Now, not on the door itself, but look at the vertical sill of where the door closes. You'll see a kind of latch that the door closes onto. You should be able to see a latch on the sill. Hit that switch and you will trick the door into thinking that it is close and it will scoot the window back up.

Are you trying to tint your side windows?

I'll try photographing it if you still can't figure it out.
