below is fine, but you need to take your car in. A 60+ deg. change in oil temp immediately following sevrice work is not normal and you definitely should take the car back to service. The sinthetic oil can handle those temps no problem, but it will break down quicker and need to be changed more often. The higher viscosity is def. not causing such a large increase in temp. There is another reason (possibly over filled) which is physically forcing something in your engine to produce much more heat. Heat is cuased by friction. More friction means more wear on the engine. Not to say 260 is a real proplem occasionally, but the oil shouldn't be running that hot normally. The only time I ever see 260 or higher is on the track.
