You found a low-miles, stock, RS America? Not bad.

Still, I'd take the M Coupe, hands down. I've had the pleasure of driving four different Porsches in the last 2 weeks (a '95 911 (993), a '99 911 (996), a Boxster, and a Boxster S -- several hundred miles in the Boxster S), and the only conclusion I can come to is that my '99 M Coupe is the car for me (and that the Boxster S is the best car that Porsche makes).

I have driven (autocrossed) an RS America. It is a really neat twist on the basic 911 formula. But 911s of that era (up until the 996, really) are really very raw sports cars. Heavy controls, loud engines, etc. The M Coupe is far easier to drive fast. As a street car, there's no question that the M Coupe is the better car. As a race car, we could argue the point. The RS America is probably the better starting point for a heavily modified car, but the M Coupe will be faster, I'd bet, out-of-the-box.

Especially when you consider that you're talking a new car versus one that's 7 years old (low miles or not), there's REALLY no question in my mind.

Good luck.

Josh

I am considering buying one of these cars. The M coupe will be totally new, while the Porsche is a low low milage <20k car. If their cost is the same, which one is a better choice? Thanks in advance for any of your inputs.
