well, this was neat. went really early, before the traffic and the cops (saw plenty of both on the way back). yeah, it's no racetrack or a/x, but it's 15 minutes away from me and fun with good company. a few runs up and down from the overlook, then sitting around chatting while watching the crowds show up. the new pavement is actually kinda slick... and i'm still not happy with how the car feels past 7/10ths. too much body motion, takes too long to settle into a turn, transient behavior unstable, tires don't grip all that well. it's a LOT of fun on the street, but once i start pushing it a bit i really start wishing for suspension and rubber. thing is this is not a track car for me, so maybe i should just leave it for street duty and tinker with other stuff. on the 73 bridge off 5N, a long uphill curve with no traffic, 155 indicated with plenty more to go (disclaimer: i'm just spinning tall tales here)... but if that actually happened, the car would really be in its element ;)
