You are correct, however if you add tint to one that has been tinted already by the factory, then they may negatively constrict. When that happens it cracks. That was the warning I got from my tint guy.

Please believe me because I had a ttop that was tinted by the factory, then tinted by me, crack because of this.

There appears to be a minute tint already applied to our sunroof IIRC. That is why I was warned.



The '99 Acura Integra I drive has a factory tinted sun roof. I would assume if Honda/Acura tints these things at the factory that cracking is not an issue. Its not the darkest tint on the sunroof, but dark enough to almost match the black paint of my car.
