they had two cops at the top, one at the bottom, and two airplanes keeping watch. the airplanes would just pace you, watch for double-line crossings and such, then hand you off to the landbound cops when you get to either end. they'd just point at people pulling up, line them up, and write tickets going down the line, one for every infraction... add to that a lengthy stretch of i15 through the desert and it's hard to be enthusiastic :(

i'd love to check out malibu and will someday soon.


I've only been out there a few times, but it was not my experience. No cops in the air at all. One day, no cops at all anywhere. Another day a CHP parked at one spot the whole day and a Sheriff hanging out up top. I talk to the bikers, they seem to know where all the cops are. Keep your radar detector on and your talkabout on scan mode, you will hear it if there is a cop nearby.
