'99 Dinan M Coupe for 44k...good deal? (archive)

I have an opportunity to buy a '99 Dinan M Coupe for 44K....is this a good deal? Were there really only 900 of these made? The car has 32K miles, and the seller said it has a modified exhaust, struts, spoiler, wheels and more...? Are all of these after-market mods, or was it actually sold off the showroom floor as a custom? What else would this model have? Where can I find out more info about this specific model? How well does it perform? Any info would be appreciated.
