I recently had a chance to compare the two. Like the Roadster, the M's have the front strut mounts about an inch and a half offset towards the rear of the car. This change would likely cause a limitation on turning radius as you will lose angle in the radius sweep by being less than vertical.

Did that make sense?

Having driven both, the revised geometry on the M's allows for sharper turn in. At least that's what I noticed most.
