Why dont you go to an independent BMW repair service center? If you mailorder the entire clutch assembly (e.g. from Bekkers)will run you about $300, and just add the labor from there. It should be less than $1100. Also, they can steer you in the right direction for brake pads, too.

On a lighter note, if you can do brakes yourself (they are the easiest thing in the world to do), you'll save a whole heckuva lot of dough.
