The clearance from the bumper to the top of the tips is close...but I like it. There is no danger of heating up the bumper as I drove it hard about 5 miles then checked it...The bumper at its closest point to the tips was cool to the touch.

I have the louder setup and I am very happy with the sound after 100 miles but I am sure it has a bit of breaking in to do yet.
