M coupe belt noise (archive)

My M coupe is now in the 38,000 mile vicinity and I have had the belt replaced once under warranty due to excessive noise (my opinion... the dealer was quite accomodating), and now I am again in the same position.

Is this a known problem with the 3.2l M engines? Is there an aftermarket belt that will last longer than 18,000 miles without making my car sound like a squeaky Singer sewing machine?
