My stock 3.0 Coupe handled great until my S..t-for-tyres dunlops started screeching so hard... Maybe I was coming in too fast in the curves? Nope, I thought so in the beginning but I was pretty confident I was at the right speed after... After 3 laps I stopped... I was in control-skid most of the time! And the grin turned to a diabolical laugh at each turn! I'll do it again! But not before I test Francorchamp and Zolder.
Since this was my first time, I didn't time it but at least I got the mileage 18 liter/100km (the worst I got) and the avg speed was 110 km/h.
Conclusion:
- Dunlops suck
- The brakes are not for racing
- Too much sway - suspension definitely needs stiffening
- Dunlops suck truely (never again)...
- Dont underestimate a Dunkervort - they passed us like we were sitting ducks!
- No coupes in sight (only another parked 3.0)
- The 2 M-Z3 roadsters I saw drove like grand-mothers...
Z3 3.0 Coupe Vs the Elise
- The Elise is quicker gears 1 to 3. Thereafter the 3.0 eats it.
- It's definitely better handling but also less forgiving - it has a lower center of gravity, less inertia and practically no sway.
PS: if you're stuck on the border of the circuit (i was in the Elise with the bursted engine), dont eat the black berries around, they're full of insects! Green Hell!
Inboard Video will be posted but in September...
Im sure a stock M-coupe (the 320HP version) eats the Elise... But against a GT3, im not sure... I saw a couple that were pretty mean...
