I had my rear latch fixed for the third time. (Or was it the forth? I'm starting to loose count.) Anyway, I got the "hooked" pull arm replacements from Ron Stygar and thought I would install them.

I couldn't figure out how to install Ron's fix without totally taking the old latch fixture apart, or attempting to un-bend and re-bend the pull arms in place. I just couldn't get them looped through the holes with everything still mounted in the rear hatch.

So it occurs to me, that maybe BMW installed the newer version of the latch that I've heard about existing on the new '01 M coupes.

I couldn't find any pictures online of either, so I'm posting some of mine.

Is this the same as the previous '99 and '00 latches or is it the newer '01 design?

Thanks,
Bhrynx
