I don't like how Motor Trend never takes a stance in any of their comparison tests. They will always say:

"If you like a {insert adjective here} car, get the {insert car here}." "If you like a {insert a different adjective here} car, get the {insert a different but never the same car here}."

And, it always seem like M/T makes the worst possible choice for car of the year. This year it was the PT Cruiser, a car for which an argument can be made that is not a car. Another year they chose the 300M and another year the Corvette. Hell, they got rid of "Import Car of the Year" a while back, and still no foreign car has won "Car of the Year."

Getting back to MT's inability to make a decision, in the article with the M roadster, Corvette, et al., they never really pick out one car as the winner, but resort to the speech that the mother of the geeky wimp will give: "You are all very special {cars}."

I think I'll continue paying the exorbitant premiums for Top Gear ($7?), Car($8), Evo ($8), and Autocar ($4ish?) to get the kind of subjectivity I'm looking for.

P.S. - Car and Driver is pretty good (they take stances).
