Well, I have finally gotten all my pictures uploaded to WebShots and caught up on archived message board stuff so now it's my turn to report.
A few trip statistics first: Total miles 1,788; avg. hwy gas mileage 24 MPG. Sloppy weather, Michelin Pilots, no problem! Longest stretch of driving, 9.5 hour return trip from NC to FL (surprisingly comfortable in the coupe).
So much happened, I will just hit the high points:
- Making the trip up with a great group of folks from Florida. Thanks to all of you for making the convoy a big success. Let's do it again next year!
- Being able to put faces with names...meeting so many coupe and roadster owners from all over the country.
- Participating in the coupe-only panoramic photo was definitely a high point - can't wait to get my copy. Special thanks to Jake Spruill for making it happen.
- Having Ron S. hand me the keys to his coupe and say "let's go for a ride". Wow. I'm jealous of you '01 owners.
- Seeing the sea of Z3s on Main Street Friday night and again on Saturday morning.
- Being asked by Nathan and Zeegar if I would run away with them, as they had never met a female "wrench-head" before (O:
Special kudos to my husband Jim. Except for one stretch of interstate driving up and one on the return trip he was uncomplainingly in the passenger seat the whole trip.
Lots of pictures at the link - see the Homecoming albums at the bottom of the page.
