M Coupe trivia: fog lights work w/parking lights (archive)

Not sure if this is an anomaly, but my 00 M coupe's factory fog lights work with the parking lights. Big deal, right? (I needed an excuse to post a new pic)

Anyway, it seemed unusual to me. The factory kit included a brand new headlight switch...could it be a Euro thing?
