I believe the E46 328i had drive-by-wire. It definatley had DSC. Any rate, during the Student Driver Course (SDC) at the Ultimate Driving Event, we took a spin (literally!) around a soap covered tarp. I noticed when the DSC was active on the tarp, my foot would instinctivley go to the floor. Then once the car hit dry pavement, the DSC turned off and the car shot forward.

It was WAY more fun with the DSC off however!
