Is it ok to use different tires in fron than rear? (archive)

Just wondering.. My rears are wearing a lot faster than my fronts, and I have a set of Pilot Sports for the rear already, but none for the front. I was thinking of getting something else (SO-3 PP's maybe).

Is it a bad thing, or is it not a big deal?
