I have a '99 M Coupe and I drove an '01 M the other day. Up to about 5000 rpm, the two cars are the same, in terms of acceleration. The big difference is over 5000 rpm where the '01 really takes off. The throttle response is a bit slower in the '01 though. You guys have an awesome car!

Enjoy.

Can you guy help me: I have a new 2001 M and have just had my first service. I can now go above 5500 rpm. I find the torque a bit dissapointing and I feel a slight hesitation arounf 5000rpm on full throttle. Is this normal or should the car pull stronger after 5000 rpm??

From about 3000 to 5000 the torque is awesome, I just was really looking forward to using the high revs and getting even more of a kick..
