The Car Should pull harder in the higer rpm ranged.

Since the peak torque is at 4900, the torque drops off from there on to the redline. The benefit if the RPMs comes in letting you stay in that gear longer without shifting. Once you shift, even though you get more torque at the engine in the lower RPMs, you get less torque at the wheel due to the lower mechanical advantage.
