Winter recomendations (archive)

I posted a message about this before but everyone assumed I would be driving the car in the snow. I would not drive the car in the snow, but I would like to at least get a different set of rims and tires for the winter and a nose mask.

I avoid driving in snow, but I would like to protect the car from getting the front and the rims pitted from the sand all over the roads. I live in CT -- average just a few snow storms a year but they dump enough sand to make your car look like it raced through the desert.

I'm looking for other recomendations to have the car come out of winter looking new. And yes I know not to use those snow brushes that are hard enough to clean a toilet.
