I have a 2001 3.0i coupe with 16,900 miles. Changed the oil at 2000 and the regular oil change at 15,000. The alarm sensor on the radio was malfunctioning at the time I picked up the car new. No other service has been required and I have had no problems. Even the gas guage functions normally and shows the correct amounts of gas in the tank. Problem free.
I guess you have to realize you are getting near exotic peformance and styling with much better reliability than even a Porsche. Still, the nits will bother you. For me:
a. bad bushing ins clutch pedal.
b. driver's side window motor failed
c. leaky rear winshield washer
d. rough start/idle (fixed with reprogram)
e. rear hatch has broken 3 times
f. gas gauge broken
That said, the dealer I go to has been fantastic (Performance in Chapel Hill NC). Even replacing the passegner side window motor as a precaution.
How is the Z3 Coupe/M Coupe for reliability? Any major/minor issues, or are they pretty reliable cars? Compared to for instance an Audi TT. I assume they are all going to require more trips to the shop than my 4-runner
