I am just doing the opposite thing. I have owned an M coupe but is looking into replacing that with a 964 or 993 C2. I have owned a '90 C2 before. Ever since I sold that vehicle I have never found a more satisfying car to drive. The M Coupe is really close, though, so if I were you, I'll go for the 2000 M coupe. There are a lot of great deals out there for this car.
As for me, I am returning to the Porsche camp.
