I have a 2000 Euro-spec M Coupe with CD Changer in hatch area. The changer is jammed and will not eject the cartridge. Message on dash consol is "CD ERROR".

Any ideas on cause of this problem and how to release it would be much appreciated.

Have any ideas? Yes, but not that you will like. Same thing happened to me in my 325i. The dealer removed the entire unit and sent it back to factory service center; they replaced the unit immediately. About three weeks later all six cd's were returned to me via Fed-Ex. It was easy and done under warrenty.
