$300k for Z8 in SF Bay Area!?!?!? (archive)

Spoke to my local dealer today, and asked him how long one would expect to wait for the Z8. His reply: "Forget about the Z8. They're going for $300k around here, if you can even get one." ("Here" is the San Francisco Bay Area/Silicon Valley.)

Is he off his rocker, or has anyone else heard similar stories? I know the Z8 is supposed to be hot, very limited production, yadda yadda yadda, but c'mon, $300k, and still long lines?!?!? Maybe that's what you get for living in one of the most affluent areas of the country...
