I have noticed quite a few comments regarding the price of the Z8. Many have compared the 125K price with the 60K price of the similar chassis M5 and said "way too much". However, IMHO, the price is ludicrously expensive, but more or less justified. Take into account the amount of Aluminum used in the Z8 as compared to the M5 - also look at the quality and complexity of the interior. The M5 uses regular 5-Series parts (interior and exterior). This keeps the price of the M5 down because little new machinery has to be manufactured to produce parts. The Z8 is ALL NEW and has many hand-built components. Finally, the limited supply of Z8's drives up the price (look in any intro Economics text). Price is a way of rationing demand for a scarce good, and the Z8 qualifies. Basically, the Z8 is not meant to be driven by everyone - only those who can afford it. It is a beautiful car with little *new* technology, but it is certainly very well equipped and a good performer.

Are there any other opinions out there on this subject or can we settle this matter and just enjoy this fine car?

Darrell

: Looking at the ebay auction there has not been any bid yet and I'd bet there will not be one.
: IMHO any FOF-story of 250k or so is only a rumor. This car is very nice, but 90k would be adequate...
