$300k Asking Price from my dealer!!!! (archive)

Today I talked with my local dealer with whom I was second on the Z8 list. He informed me that #1 droped and I am now the #1. I am also on the list at a dealer who is selling at MSRP and so I asked if he was doing the same. He told me that they set a price of $300k for the previous #1 but he would sell it to me for $290k because we know each other(friends). Wow.. what a deal. I think that this is crap, I read the bmw website and it says an MSRP of $128k. I think that BMW is really making a bad choice with letting their dealers do this. Look at what ferrari does, they sell all their cars at MSRP(you just have to wait in line for a couple years). Anyways, the 360 modena or 996 turbo are looking at lot better now, but for $300k, what the hell, Ill just buy a Lamborghini. If this has happened to anyone else, let me know.
