I wonder who got car number "07"....

: BMW has an online system with all of its dealers. They can track every car that has been assigned a production number. My production number was assigned in late January 2000. At that time you also know the VIN (since that number will go on several parts, frame, block, etc). When the number is assigned you also know the production week (11 in the case of my car which translated to the week of March 6) The dealers all pull up a production summary every moring showing the status of all vehicles that they will receive. A detailed report can be printed for any individual unit. It shows all of the option(s) detail, in this case "0," and where the car is in the system.

: If it has been shipped, the name of the vessel and the ETA to port and the ship date are on the report as well. So in my case, the car was shown as "Built" (code 155) on the 3/10/00 report. It has not shipped two very loooooong weeks later.

: As you might expect, I check every day now. Once it is "on board" it will be about 4 weeks to dealer floor (comes into Oxnard, CA)

: Model Code 0080
: Exterior Code 0354 Titanium Silver Matallic
: Interior Code P1SP Soft Leather Sport Red

: CAR #34

: : Where do you get all this info on your car, like when the production is and where it is sitting?? Also, what production # is your car and what color combo did you get??
