Well, performance is not everything, and the differences we can see there do not really matter the slightest bit except from a theoretical point of view. Besides, if performance matters, compare the new 4wd Porsche Turbo with Tiptronic s. No average driver will even come close to its 0-60 performance with an old-fashioned manual like we have in the Z8. Additionally, each of its competitors is way better equipped (not to mention the incredible low-tech-top).
Not to be mistaken - I like the Z8, it is sexy, I want it and I pay for it. But if you take a close look at the SLR you will discover there is actually nothing to compare.
