I ordered my Z8 7 months ago and my dealer INSISISTS there are no allocation numbers assigned, no VIN#'s, etc. I'm not expecting it before Sept. but I have no idea what # I am. When did you order yours? I also ordered a 911 turbo which is due in Sept. I was hoping to get the Z8 first to help decide which one I'd rather have. (If I get both, my wife will get to drive one...) Hope we both get them soon.

I agree. I ordered one in 1997 and am still waiting. My dealer has no allocation numbers or production date. He says that he will know 60 days before the car is due. I am hoping to get it by the fall also.
It would be perfect for the texas hill country.
