: Just a short comment on the "park indiscriminately" issue. I have had, to date, the front grill kicked in, windshield scratched--5 or 6 inches-- by what appears to be a diamond(?!), hood keyed, and side passenger panel deliberately (could tell by the lenght and depth of stressed metal) bashed by another car door. Yes, I've learned my lesson, and hope that everyone here can learn from my experiences. There are those out there that --if they can't have it-- then they are going to make those that can --pay!

: : : : thanks for the comment. However this is a done deal. I paid BMW AG the deposit directly and I have a contract. I flew to the frankfurt auto show and was given a private demonstration of the Z8 by the Design staff.

: : I've never owned an 850. I own a 1998 540I Sport six speed, cashmere beige, which was my first bimmer and the one that got me hooked. Will keep the 540I for commutes, the Z8 is for leisure driving once or twice a week, never to be parked indiscriminately.
