Bringing Euro Z8 to US? (archive)

Suppose someone got a hold of a Z8 in Europe (they're being advertised in car mags for "peanuts" compared to the $250k+ figures I've seen on this board and otherwise), would it be possible to bring one over to the US and license it there? The differences between Euro and US models should be minor, as noted in an ealier post, so what other hurdles would one have to jump?

1. Export the car from Europe. Shipping it probably costs about $5k-10k??

2. Import the car into the US. Pay import duty (percent??), and probably sales tax if you're bringing it into a state that has sales tax. (Anything else?)

3. License the car. Probably the hardest part, because it's not explicitly US-spec... although, as noted, it's not that different.

Is this a total pipe dream?
