The top is fully automatic going to the retracted position. When the top is put up it is fully automatic to about 4 inches of full closure and then uses a separate motor driven latching system that is activated by hand for final closure. Hope this helps.

So, according to you and Bob, if you're inside the ol' country club and it starts to rain,
1) The car won't tell you
2) You don't just push a button on your key and forget about it
3) You actually do have to step outside and adjust, latch, or lock something.

A little strange for a $150-someodd-thousand car. Seems the MB SLs have got it beat on that front (they don't have a rain sensor, but one could be installed aftermarket-also suggesting that if MB can do it, the tech is certainly there).

I agree with Bob, it is the main disappointing feature.
