I have just been called by my dealer and he informed me that according to BMW, shipments to dealers would not start until early August. Again I hope you are correct !

You are correct! Z8's are in a "155" Status right now.This means they are in the very last stages of production. The first U.S. cars will ship within the next week or so. Source: I work for BMWNA. Have Driven the vehicle in San Diego.
