Has any of you with a car had the hard top delivered with it?
And finally I have found that the interior Aluminum finished items are scratching badly from just being brushed with the seam of a pair of jeans for example(Aluminum insert on door handle on mine that my leg rests on when driving)
Also have a problem with pinking (Pinging or pre ignition in the US) if you blip the gas from idle...any ideas.
This may not be much of a consolation, but I would guess that the Aluminum that scratches easily would also be very easy to restore to either a polished/buffed shine or a brushed look with a bit of effort and some polish. It might be possible to clean them up this way and then give them a shot of some sort of protective clear coating. A tricky business because you wouldn't want the coating to introduce an abnormally high gloss as this would look unnatural. You can buy matte coatings in spray form for little money, if you are feeling handy. Or even better, suggest such a thing to your warranty service people in the absence of any better ideas.
