Please help.....question about a canadian Z8 (archive)

I read an earlier post which stated that a canadian z8 was simply a us spec model with a different speedometer. My first question is does the above sound right? My local dealer can get a z8 for me next year (at $190,000 canadian dollars) but at that time I will most likely be moving to Calafornia and I was wondering how hard will it be to convert the speedometer and what will be the affect on the resale value of the car. Would it be better to convert the speedometer right from day one? Please respond, any input would be greatly apprecieted.
