You obviously are having a "little" joke with the board. The inspiration for the design came from the 507. If you have ever seen one of the the 252 of those cars, you wouldn't make the silly comment about some off-hand resemblance to bumper cars.

I personally know the original designer, Henrik Fisker. If you really love cars, you should try and meet this guy. His "vision" and "passion" for car design will make you appreciate what BMW has created in the Z8. He is now President of BMW's design studio in Newbury Park, CA.
