Occassionaly when shifting from third or fourth, wind out to 6,000+, fast shift with immediate full throttle, there is a slight hesitation of pause of pehaps 1/4 of a second.

In BMW Power magazine, Fall 2000edition, Z8Tech article:
"DSC3 can be switched off, but one of its components, Engine Drag Control, cannot. Using the DSC lateral acceleration sensor, EDC limits the abruptness of the throttle closing to prevent lift-throttle oversteer" This would appear to be a good thing given the fact that the throttles can go from completely closed to completely open in 120 mSec. I presume that they also close as quickly, resulting in a very rapid shutdown of engine torque if you completely lift off throttle in a corner. So the EDC would likely be a very useful addition to save the car from getting light in the rear end in those situations.
Can any of you owners sense the functioning of the EDC system?
