Fred is correct, If your production is in November. The seriel number and the VIN are related. Those should be available about four weeks before production begins. The dealer should have the production week, if they are asking for your color selection.

The Z8s have been staying at the VPC for over a week before they are shipped to the dealer. With the Holidays, early January may be more realistic on the East Coast. Hope you get it for Christmas!! :~)

I just got some good news from my dealer. He says he just got an allocation from BMW for my Z8. He asked me for the color combo so he could get it into the computer. But he doesn't yet have the VIN. He said I would see this along with some faxed info about my car soon.

I was just curious what might be the time between now and when the car gets to the dealer. Hearing about the allocation today has me thinking there's a light at the end of the tunnel after all.

Z8Bob provided a very thorough answer to this a few months ago, but I thought there may be new data in terms of the speed of the manufacturing or shipping, etc.
