Of course, that is without the markup.
Your question begs a rational discussion about something that is fundamentally irrational. Putting down this kind of money for a machine with less utility than a Nissan Pathfinder is clearly not a rational act. It is, instead, an act of passion, an emotional response to a desire that comes from the heart, not the head. Discussion of contrasts are entertaining, but you cannot convince me that I like a Ferrari better than a Z8 when it just isn't so.
But, to answer the question, I chose Z8 because I think it is more beautiful than the Ferrari, it meets my modest demand for performance (as do many cars like 360Modena, XKR, M5, Vantage, etc), and, in my opinion offers the assurance of quality construction and first class engineering. In addition, you should know that I was looking for a comfortable sporting drive, without extreme noise levels and extreme harshness of ride. Hence I have avoided the Viper, for example. I was also interested in having adequate leg room as I am fairly tall. Many sporting cars, especially roadsters are not acceptable to me for this reason alone. And finally, the Z8 has styling touches that remind me of the cars of my younger years and has touched me emotionally, enough to be a significant, perhaps deciding, factor in my desire for the car.
The Ferrari may simply be described as too much performance and not enough of the other things I wanted.
I hope this satisfies your curiosity.
