I enjoy participating in the Bimmer forum, except during discussions like this. I will make just one exception and interject here, though.

Cars (such as these) are often about personal taste, reflection of one's personality and sometimes logictical elements such as financial constraints (not in this case, likely...)

So, let's fight over whose taste is better...sounds smart, eh? I will, however, make one statement...an Audi S8 has more power than a 2001 Porsche Carrera. So which is better? If ANYONE can answer that question RATIONALLY in one phrase, I'll personally send them a gold pen...

From a very personal standpoint, I'll choose the Ferrari anyday of the week. Contrary to what someone said before, Italians have been engineering and artistic pioneers for OVER 2000 years...and they've only got better since then. The 360 Modena is a reflection of this. Basing an entire nation's ability to produce reliable cars on some poor examples of exported Fiat 128s and Alfa Romeos isn't good ground for comments about reliablity.

Don't get me wrong - the BMW Z8 is magnificent. But I like my badge in the shape of a prancing horse and my engine to sing with zest...just personal.
