Why oh why can't you ask for more details or at least ask for specifics such as temperature, wet or dry etc etc, instead of just dismissing my comments as a joke.
I am fortunate in being married to the daughter of the owner of the largest Aston Martin (and Jaguar for that matter) dealership in the south of England. I do have access to all models of Aston.
The DB7 is a good effort for AM now under Ford ownership. It is built to sell to people who perhaps can't afford the hand built cars, and at the same time want a little more than the XKR Jag.
Apart from extensive use of the Ford (and Jag) parts bin it is now a good car (Early ones had a problem with the door mirrors falling off when you shut the door hard!).
But....Against the Z8 it was slower in a straight line, around corners, both tight and sweeping. AND much slower on wet roads....!! Further if you stand the two cars side by side, the quality of build of the BMW is unfortunately much better. FACT.
Further, I do not care if the DB7 is a better car or not. If indeed it was, so be it. We (the UK) need the money. I have been on many AM factory tours. The place is wonderful, full of old world skills combined with new technology. I wish them the very best of success, they are a great bunch.
BUT....DB7 V12 "Whipped it's arse good and proper" FACT...ask me how......
