Yes. The Valentine one is the absolute best radar/ laser dector Ive ever tried. This goes back 4 years now, but back then I tried K40, Bell, Whistler, Passport- you name it. The only problem with running any dash mounted dector in the Z8 is that the lighter plug is too tall to allow you to close the little side console so when you put your arm down theres that side console up and sometimes it rubs your arm. Its not a big deal, but IMHO BMW should have designed this part a little better. It might be possible to run a wire direct from the little microphone in the header but I dont want to experiment on the Z8. There is also a company that for a couple grand (I think its around 3500) will conceal the V1 and they put the display inside the rear view mirror! The display and the mirror retain the auto dimming abilities. The one thing about the V1, IMHO the remote display is a waste becuase the idea is that you dont want anyone to know you have a detector at night time. Well the V1 has an auto dimmer and at night it gets dim enough that most people wont be able to see it anyhow.
