There is currently only one "Set of Tools" for making the Z8. Production could be increased only if BMW decides to at least double production. We have not heard any of those noises for now. Z8Mania is correct, BMW IS increasing the allocation to the USA at the expense of the rest of the World. There will be at least 600 Z8s delivered to the USA Dealers in 2001.

Their motive is obvious, defeat the gray market by moving existing supply to where demand is, instead of letting the "Profiteers" do it.

Has anyone heard that BMW might step up production of the Z8 so as to defeat the "profiteering?"
